At Springboard, I focus on helping children, families, and young adults live healthier, more independent lives.

My goal is to help improve functioning and to increase participation in everyday activities and social roles.

My approach is based on understanding how a number of different things can affect a child's life. In particular, I have found the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF) model to be helpful. This model helps us look at all the different things that affect a child's life, like their physical and mental health, development, and environment. It helps us understand why kids might do better in some areas than others and how we can help them improve. When I am writing a report, and thinking about your child, I work to keep these different factors in mind; doing this helps me to provide focused recommendations that could improve their well-being and life-participation.

By considering all these factors, we aim to create plans that can help each child reach their potential.  While the neuropsychological assessment can guide treatment and planning, it is typically one part of a larger team effort involving various providers and caregivers.

each child reach their potential.

Given my training and experience in rehabilitation psychology, my clinical approach prioritizes health, independence, functional abilities, and social participation. I focus on both habilitation and rehabilitation, mindful of the potential risk of “growing into deficits” and transitional impacts. While the neuropsychological assessment can guide treatment and planning, it is typically one part of a larger team effort involving various providers and caregivers. With the right support, every child has the opportunity to thrive.
